St. Margaret Mary's Alliance of Hearts

Birds flock past church bells
Towers where one could see the world
All we have is ground of a high hill
I see the buildings of downtown
They don't seem too far even if
We both know that they are
Distance measured in time
When our mothers took us there
Downtown died so the mall could live
Now the mall has died too
A sign that we won't be long
Welcoming a child of our own

Winterlights wish us well
Following the brightest star
To that special tree in the wood
Burying our dreams under its leaves
Walked away with two sea shells
To remind us this was all
Once under the sea
Memories of all we've lost
Including a little you and me
A future where we return to stars
Greeted by our cherished ones
Celebrating while we await
Welcoming another child of our own
