Holding Pattern

world please just stop for a moment
i was hoping you wouldn't have noticed me
not today but maybe this pain is an omen
i give up, whatever you say i will agree

let us do something -- i do not know?
something we have never tried before
i will say go for it but we will never get around to it, so
let us not plan anything any more

i know things will change
but we will keep on waiting all things the same
i know things are strange
but there is more to life than all these games
