Heart of the Beast

I once walked through the night
and took all it had to give

I took my final vows
and now I'll forever live

I once walked through the stars
and came upon a dying beast

It asked for a bit of my life
whatever I could give even the least

So I gave her my heart
and traveled on my way

Now I can't feel anything
I'll never forget that day

Until one night at the grave
she appeared to me again

How beautiful she was
perfect and she promised to mend

My broken heart this day
I asked how she could

Without losing hers
I didn't think I should

She promised to make
me and her one together

Now we both feel the same
we will forever
