Our Own Religion

You were the goddess
the huntress of my heart
I was the simple hunter
whom your arrow did part
We had a secret language
and rituals all our own
It was a simple magic
we shared when all alone
Our spirits would meet
in the land of the faerie
Under a silver moon
we said vows and married

Then the darkness came
the stars refused to shine
Shattered dreams like glass
our very own end times
And what a rapture sweet
the first time we kissed
Even if our tongues lied
they never ever fell amiss
Drawn to one another
from distant ocean shores
Like two ships passing
leaving the sea like before
