The End of All That We Know

Tonight is the first night for the end of our nation. Lights we follow in the sky, knowing that some are ours. Hearts break when those lights no longer float.

We run from the southern sky to look towards the north. We know those lights are ours as they fall from the heights. The end of all that we know in a matter of seconds.

Outside they creep in jeeps leaving me to wonder how are they on the street so soon? Like all wars of course this one was decided by others and they have decided we should lose.
